Helping the Homeless in Tarrant County, Texas: What Churches Offer

At Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County, we are devoted to providing love, hope, respect and a fresh start for the homeless. Love Acts facilitates community outreach programs that are constantly improving people's lives. These programs are made possible by the generosity of those who truly believe in our mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Tarrant County. Love Acts offers prayers, encouragement and information on substance recovery with invitations to LCTC recovery meetings, bibles, resource guidance on services for the homeless, and the Love Acts Post Office mail service. If a family needs money to pay rent, a voucher for gas or to pay for medicines, free food, or perhaps help with electricity bills, a local church in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as surrounding communities, can help.

Cornerstone provides primary and preventive medical and dental care to the uninsured in Tarrant County. LoveActs trains and equips volunteers, groups and churches to be effective in ministering and supporting those in need. The Presbyterian Night Shelter was created by a group of Presbyterian churches as an overnight shelter for men, women and children struggling with homelessness in Tarrant County.
