Initiatives
To fulfill its mission, Tarrant Area Community of Churches focuses on transformational initiatives
involving education, homelessness, Christian unity and collaboration, poverty, community worship
and community forums to address difficult topics.
Our current events and initiatives include the following. Please click on each one to learn more.
• Moving Home - an initiative of the Faith-Based Homelessness Coalition, an
interfaith group created and lead by TACC, to aid the chronically homeless in
Tarrant County
• TACC Go Centers - faith-based program to provide resources and mentoring to
help students (youth and adults) prepare and plan for college
• Crop Walk Over Hunger - national fundraising walk to combat local and world
hunger, sponsored in Fort Worth by the Tarrant Area Community of Churches since
1983
• Hearts for Schools - a partnership of the Fort Worth ISD, Tarrant Area Community
of Churches, Tarrant NET, and Tarrant County College to increase faith-based
Adopt-A-School Partnerships
• Elephant in the Room Series - program series that helps provide spiritual healing
around topics that are often difficult to talk about, such as sexual abuse, suicide, divorce
and more
• Community Worship Services - worship gatherings that brings our community together
to celebrate our call to service
• Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Forums – TACC-sponsored community forums in
observance of the annual World Council of Churches Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
